Reflection on Clinical Practice in PTC

The six week placement in the Physiotherapy Treatment Center, TW hospital has passed quickly, leaving me so many invaluable memories.

Not only my supervisor, Dr. Chen, but also all other staff in the center treated me very nicely. They gave me instructions in a very efficient way, by asking me some good questions, showing me some special skills, triggering me to think deeper and sometimes to look more for the answers myself. I also quite like the morning reading and lecturing part, which gave me a chance to learn something extra, and to share ideas with each other and ask questions freely. Well, I have learnt so many different things from these specialists in physiotherapy, which probably is very common to themselves, however very impressive to me.

My supervisor, Dr. Chen, has put a great effort and patience to all her students, including me of course. I like to follow her logical thinking, to trace the cause of the diseases in various directions. I felt so good that she could notice any of my misunderstanding or hesitation in treating the patients, minor or big, and pointed it out immediately. There were so many times that I felt suddenly enlightened by her. Also I like her hands-on guiding on me, which is like the traditional teaching way, one to one, mouth to ear, leading me to feel and to do. Not to mention that she also took her own holiday, to read my boring practice notes and gave me a prompt feedback.

Time is fleeting, and I have to say good bye to everyone now. I could not find any proper word to express my appreciation to all the staff in the center, so I would rather wish them being happy with their work everyday, and I really hope to see everyone in HK in future.

So, keep in touch and looking forward to see everyone again.

All my best wishes.
